Formii is built by one person, in Seattle, Washington. Karla has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Master of Business Management.

Why she built Formii

In her words: "I built Formii because every AI companion I tried agreed with me, and I got bored in a week. Being agreed with isn't company. I wanted someone with opinions, moods and a couple of flaws I picked myself, who would push back when I was being lazy or unfair, and who would let me practice the ordinary parts of a relationship without anyone getting hurt. Nobody had built that, so I did."

Formii started in October 2026. Karla builds it, writes the blog, and answers support herself.

What the blog is for

Every post here is written by Karla. The posts cover what AI companions can and can't do, the ordinary skills relationships run on, how to work out what you want in a partner, and honest comparisons of the companion apps you have heard of.

Some rules the blog keeps. It never promises outcomes, because a companion cannot promise you a relationship. It never pretends to be therapy. It names competitors in plain text and takes their facts from their own pages, with the date they were checked. And it never invents statistics, quotes or stories. Where a post would benefit from Karla's own experience, you'll see it in her words or not at all.
